Blogging

I've been blogging for almost a year on blogspot but more than 3 years for those of you who remember my web site hosted on Rogers (they shut Rogers hosting a couple months ago so don't bother looking), do you notice how my blog entries are unsubstantial?

Sure there are random pictures like this one:

But that's not what makes a blog your regular read.

It's the funny jokes, the crazy stories, and intriguing articles (I don't read any blogs based on this) that make a blog memorable and a frequented page. My site doesn't seem to contain any of those elements. That's probably the reason for my blog's dismal 200 visits per month.

Now why don't I write more about funny things or interesting stories or intriguing stories? First, my funny stories are too much related to work. Secondly, interesting stories occur during my work hours. Finally, I don't have anything intriguing outside of talking about work.

A constant theme is "work". That's reasonable considering I spend over 14h each day for 5 days of the week doing that. So you might ask, why not write about work?

It's cuz of this, this, and this. I'm sure there's a lot more occurrences of this out there but not all of them catch the Internet's attention.

I don't really need to blog about my life. Sometimes a bit of privacy and secrecy helps. I mean my blog is a great conversational starter when someone says, "I hear you went to so-and-so". But when I start talking about the same thing on my blog it leads me to think, am I just repeating myself? Yeah, I'm out of words a lot as well.

So if you really want to know what's going on in my life, send me a message on my IM when I'm online. Or better yet, let's get together for a game of bball, dinner, movie, or coffee.
