Lexus IS 250 AWD (missing photos)

Scarborough Lexus Toyota

A showroom desert sage metallic IS 250 AWD

Angry eye rear lights

The road test black IS 250 AWD

A great looking Lexus that's small, easy to maneuver in the parking lot, travels smoothly over the potholed roads of Toronto, and has a fairly smooth V6 engine.

Sore points are poor steering wheel feedback, unbearable delay with gear changes made with the manumatic mode, and questionable interior quality like the cheap plastic roof opener switch.

New Toy, Almost

For one grand, it didn't work grand

Pros:
  • Amazingly large and sharp screen

  • Great soft touch back surface

  • Impressive photo quality for images taken in daylight

  • Reasonably small size

  • Speedy GUI and processor for running Gameboy, NES, and SNES emulators

  • Has all the features I want in a phone

Cons:
  • Mandatory flash and shutter sound when taking photos with macro mode or regular auto focus mode

  • Photo taking is slow so setting up for a photo takes a long time in dim places

  • Minimum distance for camera is too large for me to take food pics

  • Slow camera start up and auto focus speed

  • GPS has difficult locking onto satellites

  • Creeky body when the slider is open

  • Wi-Fi is touchy even in the browser so when it disconnects it will occasionally have problems connecting back to the same access point

  • Freaking expensive and I'm very afraid of getting it scratched in my pockets

Bugging me in the Morning

A great morning surprise to complete my worst work-related hotel stay.

New Toy

My new toy, the Brother MFC 440CN, can fax, scan, and print.

The best bonus is the included card reader. It provides me quick read/write access to Compact Flash, Secure Digital (SD), Memory Sticks, and xPicture.

A colour LCD doesn't hurt.
